Interfaith Concert

Interfaith Concert, taking place at Essex Church, Kensington (Notting Hill Gate) on Sunday 17 December:

Rumi’s ‘Nuptial Night’ – interfaith concert
Sunday 17 December 2006 6:30-8:30pm
At the death of the great Sufi poet and sage Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, Muslims, Jews, and Christians all joined the funeral.

This date on 17th December is traditionally celebrated as Mevlana Rumi’s ‘nuptial night’ when he finally joined in union with the Beloved.
With this inspiration for our times, we have brought together musicians from the Muslim, Jewish, and Christian faiths.
Taraweeh (‘refreshment of the soul’) led by master ney player Louai Alhenawi perform passionate Sufi music.
Vivi Lachs leads her fellow musicians with songs from the Yiddish tradition, including mystical lyrics and joyous wedding music.
Jennifer Hazel sings music from the Christian tradition and contemporary settings of Rumi.

The programme includes readings from Rumi in English and Persian.

Greetings Friends,

May Peace Be With You.

Shalom. Namaste. Sabudicrom. Pax. A Salaam Alaikum.

This sounds like a rather interesting event (I speak figuratively in that the only sound I hear from the web log is the stir of the engine within this laptop computer; and even then, it is from the lap top, rather than the web log, and I am typing rather than speaking). Simply put, your description of the event is appreciated.

Based upon experience in visiting additional website for a (like www.current.tv, www.ifilm.com, www.myspace.com, et cetera), there seems to be a considerable amount of benefit for having an audio/visual recording of events such as these, so that youthful individuals can have an increasingly tangible perception of what is involved within interFaith work, interFaith cooperation, and interFaith celebration. It is estimated that twentysomething adults and thirtysomething adults are particularly interested in events such as this.

One issue about making audio/visual recordings available on the internet, for general utilisation, has been the amount of storage space (disk space) required for such files (one may note that certain web log and website provides who offer internet space without monetary compensation often have substantial restrictions pertaining the amount of storage space that is maintained upon such web logs and websites [an understandable precaution to maintain certain efficiency and efficacy of such web logs and websites]).

This is simply something to consider.

With humble and benevolent regards, Idwata,

Peter Frank Womack (fellow with the Asona Group within this InterFaith Settlement)
